ISSSEEM Science & Energy Medicine Task Force Seeks
Volunteers
The ISSSEEM Board of Directors recently approved a plan to form
a new working committee to actively link the organization with
healing and energy medicine research activities around the world. The
idea for the Science and Energy Medicine Task Force grew out of
the successful Research Symposium held at the last two ISSSEEM
Annual Conferences.
The goals are to provide ISSSEEM members with up-to-date information
about the rapidly expanding scientific exploration of and theorizing
about healing and energy medicine phenomena and connect ISSSEEM
with the active scientists in the field. The task force organizational
effort is led by Past-President and Board Member Jerry E. Wesch,
Ph.D. An active, committed group of ISSSEEM members will
be needed to bring the project into reality.
Initial goals for the Science and Energy Medicine Task Force include:
- Collecting current bibliographies of published and presented
healing and energy medicine research and theoretical papers. These
would be collected in a central resource bank/database and eventually
posted on the ISSSEEM web site as a resource to the membership
(and the cyber community at large). Both citations and
full-text documents will be sought, as well as links to other
collections.
- Linking with the research committees of other like-minded organizations.
- Identifying and listing currently active subtle energy and
energy medicine research projects and investigators world wide. As
projects are completed and published, reports and publications
can move to the bibliography database. These projects and
investigators are possible sources for conference presentations
and journal submissions.
- Collecting information on sources for research funding and
current opportunities for funding (RFA’s/RFP’s) that
are of interest to the ISSSEEM membership.
- Creation of a “Science and Energy Medicine” section
on the ISSSEEM web site to contain information on historical
and current efforts to explore and understand subtle energy and
energy medicine phenomena via the scientific method. This
might include FAQ pages, overview and summaries of the data so
far, a moderated “Discussion” area to hold member
cyber-discussions regarding science and healing topics, pages
on theories of subtle energy and energy medicine phenomena from
both a scientific and experiential view point, etc.
Possible future developments:
- Regular “Science and Energy Medicine” column in
Bridges.
- Development and publication of a “Energy Medicine Research
Handbook” for beginning researchers.
- Coordination of the annual “Research Symposium” at
the ISSSEEM Annual Conferences in Boulder, CO.
- Workshops at the annual conference on research design and analysis
in healing and energy medicine.
- Hosting a conference on subtle energies and energy medicine
mechanisms and theory development.
Volunteers for the Task Force are sought from the ISSSEEM membership
to serve on-going terms. Both “mystically-inclined scientists” and “scientifically-inclined
mystics” are encouraged to apply for task force membership. To
indicate your willingness to participate, send a letter or e-mail
expressing interest with all contact information to the ISSSEEM Central
Office (issseem2@comcast.net). For questions and further information,
contact Jerry E. Wesch, Ph.D. at (773) 262-8798 or jerrywesch@sbcglobal.net |
